I also have a basic look and feel of what I want the store image to be. It's just a matter of time until I relearn Adobe so I can create banners, tags, website images, and all that jazz. Hopefully I'll be officially, officially up and running by next summer for a little bit of Farmer's Market action!
So why am I celebrating now if I still have a long way to go before it becomes completely legitimate? As of today I have officially crocheted, packaged, and mailed my first order! This means I am a professional now, right? And that's reason enough to celebrate for me! I took a few photos [forgive me, I'm terrible with lighting] and made a collage to commemorate the occasion. A big thank you to Katie of Spero Naturals for being my first official client and Ariel of Wrap It Up With Ariel for being the inspiration that started it all!

While I'm still working on creating stock and finding a photographer, I am taking special orders until I get things settled down. I have a variety of available thread and ribbon colours. If you're interested in finding out more or possibly ordering one just shoot me an email at mary.lynne90@yahoo.com.
heirlooms doe not invoke images of baby items. (at least not to me) how about little treasures by Alainn? look at other crochet baby sellers on etsy and see what they do. It will help you get started until you find what works for you! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteYou do have a point there! I would eventually like to add "bigger" things like afghans, bedspreads, curtains, etc so I was trying to think of something broad. I do like the sound of "Little Treasures" though! ^^ Thanks for giving me something to think about!
DeleteCongratulations! Bekah and I opened our Etsy shop in September and it's such a great feeling to make sales and become successful! Take your time and get it right, we got everything ready in the background, then spent a day 'opening' listing and setting up shop...it was fun. Choosing the right name is sooo hard...I like Little Treasures too, just look up any name you want to use on Etsy first, to make sure no one else has used it, nothing worse than choosing a great name and finding someone else has it! We chose Amaranth Alchemy, it was different enough and meant something to us. If you want any ideas, look up our shop on Etsy: AmaranthAlchemy, and see if any of our set up can give you ideas... Good luck and enjoy it!
